Terms of Use

1. Definitions

  • MOD HOUND: the web platform you are currently on, and by extension, its creator. The MOD HOUND web platform is a Non-Commercial project.
  • Users: individuals accessing the MOD HOUND platform and / or publishing content on it.
  • You: the current user.
  • We / us: the MOD HOUND creator.
  • Modder: A special User on MOD HOUND, who is a creator of custom content for the Sims 4 Game and who is a registered User on the MOD HOUND platform (who has made an account), with "modder" in their account type.
  • Unregistered Modder: A creator of custom content for the Sims 4 Game who is NOT a registered User on the MOD HOUND platform (who has NOT made an account).
  • Community Editor: A special, registered User on the MOD HOUND platform, with "trusted" in their account type, who has made an account for the purpose of making and maintaining Listings about Mods of Unregistered Modders and Registered Modders who allow it or have inactive Listings in need of update.
  • Mod: A custom content creation for the Sims 4 Game.
  • Listing: information about a Mod shared by a Modder on the MOD HOUND platform.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using MOD HOUND, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement.

3. Content Guidelines

Users are prohibited from posting, uploading, or sharing any content that is:

  • Violent or promotes violence
  • Pornographic or sexually explicit
  • Hateful, discriminatory, or promotes discrimination
  • Illegal or promotes illegal activities
  • Infringing on intellectual property rights

In compliance with the law, MOD HOUND reserves the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines.

Additionally:

  • MOD HOUND requires that Listings and any and all content published on MOD HOUND by Users be fully 'Safe For Work' (meaning, PG to Teen-rated) and free of profanity.
  • MOD HOUND also requires that Modders mark their Listings with Content Filters in cases where the Listing refers to a Mod that might be trigerring or inappropriate for certain audiences (the Listing itself MUST be appropriate for PG to Teen audiences no matter what).
    By using MOD HOUND, Users acknowledge these requirements and that by marking their Listings with the provided Content Filters, they are ensuring the Listings thus marked shall not be shown to Users unless said Users opt in to see Listings thus marked.

As a Modder or Community Editor on MOD HOUND, you must and agree to follow the rules and the prohibitions noted above.
As a visiting User, if you notice a Listing violating this, please inform us of it via the "Contact" tab so we can take action.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

5. Termination of Use

MOD HOUND reserves the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to the service without prior notice for violations of these terms.

6. Limitation of Liability

MOD HOUND shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages resulting from your use of the service.

Additionally:

  • MOD HOUND does NOT exercise any active editorial role on the content Modders, Community Editors and other Users may publish on the MOD HOUND platform, be it Listings, personal notes, or any other content. MOD HOUND shall NOT be held responsible for the content of Listings made by any User on MOD HOUND. Listings are made by Users. When Users are building Listings, MOD HOUND might derive 'file name stem' information for the Listing via automation DIRECTLY from file names provided by Users, likewise for update dates; these automations, being fully derived of the User's input, shall not be considered as co-publishing or incur liability onto MOD HOUND for the content of the resulting Listing shared by the User (with MOD HOUND and its Users) and controlled by the User alone.
    By pulishing Listings on MOD HOUND, Users agree to be held responsible for the content and Listings they publish on MOD HOUND, whether or not the publishing thereof is aided by the aforementioned automations.
    Similarly, MOD HOUND's profanity filter shall not be considered as co-publishing or incur liability onto MOD HOUND for the content of the resulting Listing or content of any type shared by the User (with MOD HOUND and its users) and controlled by the User alone.
    The User considered responsible for a Listing is the User asociated with the account on record as having edited the Listing (this is generally the Modder creator of the Mod which the listing is about, but not always). The User responsible for any other User content shared or published on the platform is the User asociated with the account which published or shared said content.
  • As a User, if you notice a Listing violating our Terms of Use or any laws, please inform us of it via the "Contact" tab so we can take action.
  • MOD HOUND only holds information about Mods (as Listings). MOD HOUND does not host the Mods themselves. MOD HOUND shall NOT be held responsible for the content of the Mods that the Listings concern.
    MOD HOUND does NOT, either, claim any rights over the Modders' Mods or the Listings about said Mods made by Modders on the MOD HOUND platform.
  • The Sims 4 game is property of Electronic Arts. Mods, and MOD HOUND, are not affiliated with Electronic Arts. MOD HOUND acknowledges NO rights or responsibilities over Electronic Art's property.

7. Changes to Terms

MOD HOUND reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any significant changes.

8. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America.
